YES, definatley hook it up behind the hu. You don't want any longer leads going into them than you need.

My front amp has very low input sensitivity which is why the gains are all turned so far down. It will be next on the list for replacement.

I have always liked high line voltage myself. Can't wait to replace this setup with the Alpine!

Thanks, I dont have the LOC's yet, but the amp is one of the sony amps, 60x4, might not be the best quality amp, but cost is driving this ship. I checked out the davidnavone site. Ive read a lot of good things elswhere about them. will probably go ahead and order the 4 channel variable and play with all of the gains until I get it right. Uggggg...have to order something else, like all americans, I want it now! ha

You can get one down at radio shack or circuit city, heck wal mart might even have them. There just not going to be the same quality.

Yes, Navone rocks!

wiring

I finally have all of the parts assembled, speakers are in (slight mod for the Infinity tweeters to fit in factory holes) and am ready to do some wiring.

so where is everyone hooking up the remote turn-on from the amp to a factory HU? ACC hot behind the HU? does this cause the amp to turn on even if the radio is off? I have heard that it could cause a "popping" when you switch on before the radio comes on. As usual thanks for everyones input.

I dont know if I have menioned, but it's a 04F150 scab, single cd factory hu.

Check Sig. Visteon (Ford) head units are remarkably quiet and do not distort until it is too loud to sit in the truck anyway. I used a scope to set up my gain structure and I was surprised how clean they are.
