help me ? putting in subs
help me ? putting in subs
hey fellow people. I have reg cab 97 f150 and have already put in 2 pioneer 6*8's along with the panasonic touch screen deck. Now im looking for extra kick and was thinking along the lines with one 10" kicker competition with kicker amp that puts out like 150rms what do u boys think. should i get differnet stuff? what do u guys have. help?
150 watts RMS would match up pretty decent with the Kicker CompVR. However I think that you should look at getting a different sub. For about the same or possibly even less than the Kicker you could pick up a Dayton DVC 10" which has a much lower Fs and Qts (in short it will play lower and cleaner). Not to mention that the Dayton carries a 5 year waranty. You can pick one up online at www.partsexpress.com Another sub you should look into would be a Peerless or Adire Audio. There are alot of other subs out there that are as good or better. Personally, I like the Dayton for it's phenominal low range extension, sound quality, price point and waranty.
ya
thanks for the input, i couldnt find the Daytona on that website though maybe im drunk or stupid or something. Unforunately i also live up north quite a bit so really shipping and paying american and shiz do u think its worth it.. Plus i wanna ask should i get a breidgable amp so i could hook some more up later. for the low/high frequencies and such. just asking, im not so hardcore so i need some help
shipping on the stuff from partsexpress is very reasonable (they don't over-inflate shipping charges as many do). The reason you didn't find the sub is because you searched for Daytona they are actually Dayton without the extra A. As for an amp my best suggestion to you would be to get an amp up front that will match your needs or future needs. I can't really build a system without knowing what you want to spend and without you having a little knowledge up front of car audio. I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the car audio basics first so that you can better make better decisions for yourself. Do some reading on this site www.bcae1.com and once you get a better idea of how things work you will be better able to determine what you want
