max power compared to rms power

if an amp was 2x600W at 4 ohms MAX POWER and 2x300W @ 4 ohms RMS and 1x1200 @4 ohms MAX POWER bridged, what would the RMS be when bridged to one channel, the guy at millionbuy.com said about 500-550W@4ohms but im just seeing what you guys think about that

oh yea, its also a Lanzar VIBE248 if that helps anybody

From looking at the ratings you posted, the guy at Millionbuy is probably right on target...the amp will probably push 500-600 watts RMS.

I found some additional ratings on this amp. It says that it is also 2x500 RMS @ 2ohm so your actual 4 ohm bridged mode should be in the area of 1000 RMS x 1 @ 4 ohm bridged. The 2 ohm stereo rating and the 4 ohm bridged rating are usually perfectly in line with each other. Although I do not think that this amp would do anywhere near what they are saying it's rated power is. Your actual wattage for this amp is more than likely going to be in the 250watts RMS 500 watts max range at it's best and that is a very generous power rating.

Think of it this way. An amp rated at 1000 watts RMS that can actually do that entire amount is roughly 4 times the cost of the Lanzar at the internet prices. In short, don't fall for some overblown specs marketing scheme. Get a quality amp such as Autotek, Zapco, RF, MTX, Diamond, JBL, Hifonics, Xtant, Memphis or another that is along the same line. Granted with these amps they will tell you you are only getting 200 watts RMS power but in a side by side comparison or even a benchmark contest you will see they will do just as much as the Lanzar if not way more.

i've had the amp for a while now, *been a while since i started this thread* and i have been very pleased with its performance....if you look at the THD, it is very low which is supposed to be an important factor when picking an amp
