Need help...Stereo dont shut off

I got subs in my truck. I was using my brothers amp, one day he took it. We took the in-line fuse out so we didnt have any hot wires back there, and i just recently got a new amp for it. So i hook it all up and put the inline fuse back in.

Stereo will not shut off when the inline fuse is in. I can take the keys out and everything and still the HU is on and plays music and the works. I figure electricity is going back through the remote wire feeding the HU power.

Problem in the amp or possibly wires rubbed through crossing over etc.?

Give me a place to start looking.

Is your HU still stock? Give us some more information about your system.

You have your remote turn on wire plugged into a wrong wire somewhere....

Easy to fix, just find another wire that is only on when the car is on like an audio fuse or something like that (not the one that is always on) or another wire off the HU.

The HU is stock, as well as the speakers.

When i pull the big inline fuse for the amp, the deck funtions properly. And the light on the amp comes on when the key is turned and off when its off even with the amps fuse pulled. So i believe the remote wire is connected properly.

I am also getting quite a bit of sound outta that amp with its inline fuse pulled. The only place it is getting power is through that remote wire, and it must be getting alot. So that makes me think the remote wire isnt hooked up right.

I have a 2002 F150 with the single cd player. Someone please give me the loaction for the remote wire. I will check as soon as i get a reply

Thanks guys

The thing that gets me is that my brothers amp worked fine in there. So that says my amp is bad

I am willing to bet that its your remote wire. Its connected to a 12v constant even when the car is off which is why the amp is staying on. Unplug the remote turn on from the amp while it is on and Im willing to bet it shuts off, and if it does then that just means the remote wire is hooked up wrong.

Just unplug the remote wire and see if it turns off. If it is not that I am still willing to be it has something to do with the remote turn on, but internally. Maybe something is loose within the amp casuing voltage to be sent to the remote turn on from the power supply, but more than likely I be it has to do with how the wire is hooked up externally. Did your brother amps have the techonology to turn on via the RCAs? If so then that may be why it worked.
