Nassty,

Please re-read the post previous to yours. I am not trolling. In fact I have done everything possible to get this thread back on the track of grabbing options. Take a deep breath; there is an eco lovers unite convention this weekend. You will be happy there.

RR - just an observation, but you DO seem to go wherever my good friend Nassty goes.

This is troublesome in and of itself, without invoking the "T"-word. In fact, there is an "S"-word reserved for such behaviour.

Another observation - all it would take is enough like-minded, concerned folks to use the 'Report Post' button, and you would be on the outside looking in - again.

Hence - feel free to continue contributing, but be advised - you are not fooling anyone with patently false assertions to justify your atrocious conduct.

Now - where were we? Ah yes ... protecting the cyclist who is not wearing a helmet, lol ....

MGD

Food for thought.

Already done, with no results.

Food for thought.

I checked on your opinion that I am following Nassty. Nassty has posted on 498 threads. It would seem reasonable that I might run into him. If you check other webs, you will find he has followed and confronted me with his "trolling" issues.

All I have ever said is this:

Ecoboost is just another roll out of a tried and failed technology called turbos. I could explain why in detail, but it doesn't change anything. There is questionable gas saving, extra towing capacity in exchange for a motor that is more complicated and running too hard, likely to cause additional maintenance costs and shorter engine life. For me the extra expense of the engine wasn't worth it...are they really going to ban me for that? Yes, if it was up to wookie, nassty, ymenski and others.

Ok, I have been ignoring the utter nonsense that you have been spewing but since I have asked you this before and you conveniently ignored it I'll ask again.

I've seen TDIs with over 500,000 miles on the factory turbos.
So please enlighten all of us with EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE how exactly a modern turbo vehicle does not work. I'll be expecting facts with supporting documents not the useless rambling drivel you like to spout. Also, using a vehicle that was utter junk (Dodge Caravan Turbo I'm looking at you!) won't apply here. Here's your chance to prove you're not as stupid as we all think you are, don't screw it up!

This is a simple preference thing. I decided I would rather have two less turbos and two more cylinders. However, if, which is not confirmed by most independent testing, eco saves the 6% in gas, you are breaking even at 100k miles. Some more ifs on the break even. Do not buy premium gas; you will not save money and will never break even. Don't change your oil more frequently even though I would recommend it because you are running turbos. Do not have a turbo go out before 100k and even when the turbo fries, refigure the break even because now it is at 200k miles. Remember that in the break even analysis for me, I also considered condensation issues and spark plug gap threads.

Tell you what though, right back at you, give me some data showing why eco is the better buy. Fact is I can't prove it and neither can you and challenging that is a very weak point. I hope eco is successful. Turbos have never been successfully incorporated, but maybe they will now. I will bet this though: If you direct inject the 5.0 it gets as good or better mpg than eco....which still wins the towing debate.............

Agreed, I believe he is tap dancing on the edge of not quite breaking the rules. Hopefully the mods will get tired of his incessant thread crapping sooner than later.

I'm going to say this only one more time. So far Rex Reid has not broken any rules. He has a right to express his opinion just as you do. The sniping I have seen has been several of you sniping at him. I do not care what has happened on other forums, only what happens on this one and from what I see, he is no more guilty than those of you bashing him. Several of us are fed up with it. State your opinion on the subject of the thread and stop all the extra crap.

How about that DS grab handle or lack there of. I hate that Ecoboost truck, it doesn't have a DS grab handle. Not really I'd rather have a boost gauge on the DS A-pillar than a grab handle.

I agree with Bluejay, I haven't seen anything that warrants a ban. If you don't like what he writes, then stop reading his posts, or put him on your ignore list. Either way, it's time to get this thread back on topic.

Thank you bluejay. I have been trying to stay out of the personal stuff and I am trying to deflect personal attacks. Please let me know if I am not doing that.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the grab handle on the passenger side and move it to the driver's side?

Yes I know and NO! it can't be moved.

Ummmm ... The handle is integral to the A-pillar trim piece. There's NO WAY the RH would fit the LH.
