I'm from Socal and find Christmas offensive.

Just joking... I can't stand that crap either, what's it like being able to own a .50 caliber, and not having a carpool lane full of Priuses in Texas? If it weren't for the waves here, I'd be out there in a heartbeat.

Merry Christmas:santa: :santa: :santa:

OBTW, nice looking headlights.

There's another thread somewhere about a week back, but it's simple enough to type out.

1. Remove headlights (duh.)
2. Heat oven to 250* (Do not put in Convection oven. That'd be bad.)
3. Place headlight in oven for roughly 10 minutes. (Don't worry, they won't melt, just don't leave them in there longer than 10 minutes.)
4. Remove headlight from oven. (Use gloves or pot holders, they'll be VERY hot.)
5. Grab a flat head screw driver and begin working your way around the headlight (between the lens and back cover,) prying apart between the sealant.
6. Keep working at it until you can lift part of the lens off of the back cover.
7. Pull apart. You may have to pull pretty hard, but no worries, it shouldn't break if you're careful.
8. If you remove the remaining silicon sealant at this time, it'll much easier than if you wait. This will be essential to making sure it seals properly once re-glued.
9. There are two small screws which connect the middle part (chrome,) to the lens. Remove these, remove the middle part.
10. Tape off the reflector area for turn signals. In my case, tape off a small section on the edge to leave a chrome edge (matches headlight.)
11. Sand everything. Paint with a few light coats. (Krylon Fusion works great.)
12. Allow the painted parts to dry for 24 hours.
13. Remove the masking tape very slowly after 24 hours dry time.
14. Attach the painted part back to the lens after thoroughly cleaning the inside of the lens.
15. Run a very thick bead of silicon sealant in the groove in the back cover (this part is black plastic.)
16. Snap the pieces back together. Run a bead of silicon sealant around the edges. (The pieces may have warped slightly. Test fit before Silicon'ing to ensure you know how to move them to fit.)
17. Use tow straps to hold the pieces together.
18. Allow the silicon to cure for 24 hours.
19. Remove the tow straps, clean the outside of the lenses. Install.

I did the "tear-down" one at a time. Maybe 20 minutes per headlight. Painted everything together. I also painted the orange "marker" section (which pops off of the inner plastic chrome piece.) However, it's a little darker than I was hoping for.

It is essential that you have patience with this. If not, you'll screw it up and have to buy HD lights anyway.

Would I do this again? Heck yeah. For roughly 12$, it turned out great. Time will tell, but this things look better than factory and I don't think anything's getting in there.

Good luck and have fun.

-Tony

Many many people have tried depo lights and hated them. They usually end up leaking, or they don't fit right.

I love it here. Not in the city though.. I won't get into that.

Thanks for the compliment.

Yes, and mine had the lenses craze up as well.

So, if you're looking for some leaking headlights that don't fit right and that have crazed lenses, then DEPO is the brand for you.

ha. tell me about it. those waves are about the only thing i'd ever go to cali for. but if you have grown up around galveston and surf side, the tiny waves work just fine. lol at least for skim boarding

Eh, I had planned to buy some HD's anyway... So, why not do it cheap first and see how it turns out?

Bottom line, I'm in love...

Update: No leaks what so ever. Today and yesterday were some of the worst days Texas typically sees, with temps fluctuating and fog, and rain... Very very pleased...
