Exclamation Searched But No Results

I was searching to find if the edge evo could be traced by the dealer. I want a programmer that if i were to take my tuck into the dealer i could remove the programmer and they couldnt trace it. A tech at the shop told me that the hypertech was the best but from searching on the site, it looks to be a waste of money. Any suggestions.

I just leave the chip in and no one is the wiser. I wouldn't worry too much about them.

I believe that all tuners will leave the P1000 code when removed. I know that there is a procedure that dealers can use to verify that a tuner (or chip) has been in a vehicle, but its quite time consuming and costly if I am not mistaken and most will not go that route unless they have good reason to do so....If your really concerned about it, then don't do it..If a tech at the shop means the dealer, and he told you hypertech is the best, then go to another shop because hypertech is by far NOT the best.

Hi 06flame4x4,

Once you have returned the vehicle back to stock with our Troyer Performance tuning, the only thing that shows up is a P1000 code, and you would get that if you just disconnected the battery - it simply means that power to the PCM has been interrupted, and that goes away on it's own after driving it a little bit.

What most people here do is take advantage of the fact that we have specialized in tuning these truck for far longer than anyone else, 15 years now - and have us do our custom tuning to that vehicle. That is what will actually get you the best results in everything from making maximum safe & sustainable raw power to getting the best overall driveability, best part-throttle response, towing, etc. We provide you with a set of 3 different custom tunes, set up for whatever other modifications may be done to the vehicle, as well as your preferences, how you operate the vehicle, etc., and this works much better than going with "canned" off the shelf type of tuning.

What it gets down to is using tuning that is going to be safe for your vehicle, yet still get good performance gains - and no, Hypertech is not even close to "the best" for these (or any other) vehicle - if they were, we'd be selling them instead of spending all the time we do doing our own in-depth custom tuning. It's not that they are "bad," it's just that you can do much better, and get a unit with more capabilities by going with our custom tuning.

If you'd like to go over this in more detail, please feel free to give us a call and we can answer all your questions and tell you about what our tuning will do for your vehicle.

Thanks for your post, good luck with your truck & we hope to hear from you!
