Are we crazy to buy another one?

November, 2024, our 2017 f150 blew engine bearings as I passed a semi on a two lane country road - leaving me stranded 2 hours from home. 75,000 miles, 1000 miles from next oil change. My baby. Towed to the nearest dealership - tech said it only had 2 qts oil. Yeah, because the rest was all over the side, tailgate, and underside. $15,000 repair estimate. Being 2 hours from home made it virtually impossible to get it home to repair and we sold it to salvage. Bought a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder in December - we put 350,000 miles on a 1995 Pathfinder we owned for 14 years. But Nissans aren't the same as the 4 others we owned.

And I've missed my truck. Was this just a fluke? I'm not driving this Nissan anymore and need new wheels. Will we regret trying another f150? We never had a day of trouble with our 2017 until the day it died.

Thank you for your thoughts.

What engine was in the 2017? Just curious.

Total engine failure is pretty rare IMO
