new to me truck, thinking of getting a pedal commander or something similar for better response. Which one have you guys used? Any recommendations? Thanks

 

Thought I’d ask again? I’ve been on this forum since my first f150 back in 1998, but when my username was updated the post count reset. Great forum.

1) which plug in tuner is recommended for 2019 5.0. Looking to improve pedal response. My 04 5.4 with edge tune was much better.

2) do the tuners allow me to remove or disable start/stop function?

Its really not a question of what works the best but of how some work and if you like the response any specific one offers.
There are several >rates of change< offered.
To get the object of this, try finding, on Youtube Video by Gale Banks on his offering, compared to others.

Just me, but my stock response is very sharp, on my 2018 5 L.
I would not ever want to change it intentionally.
I have to go to ECO Shift Mode to cool is down.

.As for taking Auto stop start out of action, best to do it with a program change and not consider disconnecting anything or make wire changes some may tell about..
A very simple way to stop it is to use a $5 Test plug in the trailer connector. Why is that it stops it when a trailer s plugged in as a normal action. You just fool the system with a Test plug because it detects the Test LEDs that light up and disables the Back-up warning, but keeps the Camera on so you can see the tow area.
