Adaptive Cruise Control
Adaptive Cruise Control
Bought my 2019 used F-150 KR 2 weeks ago. Cruise control would not engage and had a front camera malfunction message. Dealership said they had a windshield on order due to the previous owner had installed an aftermarket windshield. After installing new one, it now works intermittently. I will be driving with it on, and it will trip off with a message "cruise control not available, blocked sensor" followed by collision avoidance also unavailable. 20 min later it may come back on, or not. Depends. Anyone ever see this? I plan on taking it back up, but they said they drove it initially after programming and everything worked fine.
Potential wiring issue at one of the front sensors? Wondering if maybe they could've gotten corroded, chaffed or something along those lines. I know that on my '16 I had the alternator pigtail COMM wires corrode causing the battery msg to come on randomly, and if one of the front sensors is what is actually faulty, that harness wouldn't be too far from the alternator wiring location. Stand your ground at the dealer, electrical diagnostic is not cheap and often costs as long as it takes to find the issue. Also, my dad has an issue with the rear parking sensors (sans BLSS), and they've been dead almost since new. Wonder if its a common problem on the 13th gens.
