Just bought a 2019 F150 XLT off my father in law. It was a company vehicle.
truck is:
5.0, crew cab, 4x4, 6.5ft box, max payload, full trailer setup with brake controller etc with about 40,000 miles on it.
They did not have any issues with the truck, however, 4th day I have it and my reverse camera stops working. I have a blue screen. Sometimes the camera will flicker back and do this:
I popped the cover on the tailgate and checked the wiring both at the camera and at the harness connection by the spare tire. I unplugged the harness, checked for corrosion and plugged it back in. I also checked and replaced the fuse.
What else can I check? The truck is a few thousand miles out of basic warranty.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can try and chase the whole harness?
Really eh? I would of figured some online ford parts wholesalers would have all the parts you can order for the truck. At least this was the case with my Chevy.
I had the same exact trouble and the issue was the tailgate wire harness to camera adapter. It can be disconnected, cleaned with electrical contact cleaner and the reinstalled.
Your other option is the dealership and they charged me $500 for a new wire harness for just the tailgate.
If you having issues wit blue screen, the camera gets its ground from the open shield wire in the harness (which easily corrodes off), I just connected the black ground wire on the camera to the black/yellow ground wire on the tailgate light with a short jumper wire, it fixed my problem
