2019 Ford XLT reverse Camera problems

Just bought a 2019 F150 XLT off my father in law. It was a company vehicle.

truck is:

5.0, crew cab, 4x4, 6.5ft box, max payload, full trailer setup with brake controller etc with about 40,000 miles on it.

They did not have any issues with the truck, however, 4th day I have it and my reverse camera stops working. I have a blue screen. Sometimes the camera will flicker back and do this:

I popped the cover on the tailgate and checked the wiring both at the camera and at the harness connection by the spare tire. I unplugged the harness, checked for corrosion and plugged it back in. I also checked and replaced the fuse.

What else can I check? The truck is a few thousand miles out of basic warranty.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can try and chase the whole harness?

I did some more reading which points to a potential ipmb module. Is this photo that module?

anyone know where I can buy a new one? I can’t find it on the ford parts site?

That is a dealer only part. Contact your local dealer.

It might take a while due to the chip shortage though.

Really eh? I would of figured some online ford parts wholesalers would have all the parts you can order for the truck. At least this was the case with my Chevy.

I guess my best bet is ebay then

There was also a recall on certain Ford backup camera modules, but I can't find it at the moment.

This might be it, down at the bottom you can enter your VIN

Unfortunately my truck doesn’t fall in the recall and my module was from Jan 2019. As per my usual luck lol

Has anyone opened up the ipmb module? Can connections be resoldered?

does anyone know exactly what goes bad on the module or a test for it other than scanning with forscan (which I just ordered)

Also is there more than 1 fuse for the reverse camera? If so does anyone know which ones?

I am surprised to find no schematics on the fuse panel door and I have been searching online. All I could find was fuse 36

Had the same trouble

I had the same exact trouble and the issue was the tailgate wire harness to camera adapter. It can be disconnected, cleaned with electrical contact cleaner and the reinstalled.

Your other option is the dealership and they charged me $500 for a new wire harness for just the tailgate.

If you having issues wit blue screen, the camera gets its ground from the open shield wire in the harness (which easily corrodes off), I just connected the black ground wire on the camera to the black/yellow ground wire on the tailgate light with a short jumper wire, it fixed my problem
