I am repairing a front damaged 2018 F150. The deployable steering column is showing as blown when the SRS system is scanned.
I am not sure what deploys inside it so I will ask....is there any way to repair the steering column other than replacing it?
That is the baby. I wasn't sure what to call it so didn't search very hard. I have used "My Air Bags" previously so I am sure they can rebuild it successfully.
I talked to My Air Bags and they say they can reset it. Also said they don't have a pic or video of the sensor in the F-150 steering column. I was hoping someone here might have a pic. I haven't looked at my column yet.
This is the module in question. I just confirmed with "My Air Bags.com" that this is the part that blows in a front hit collision. Ford says you have to replace the column. MABs can rebuild it for $80.
