FORScan SCCM Changes?

Hey guys

I wasn't seeing much in my searches online and here, so I'll ask...

I recently installed a raptor steering wheel into my 16 Lariat. Looking at the forscan spreadsheet, There were different settings for the different button layouts. I've compared the as-built data for a few raptors to my regular 150 to see where the changes would be and tried to adjust the values accordingly. Every time it comes up with "incompatible" when it tries to write to Block #3 (724-03-01), which according to the spreadsheet, is just the left hand buttons. Is there just no way to get the raptor buttons to work and I should just swap my Lariat buttons onto the new wheel? Thanks

Easiest would be swapping your existing buttons over. I know when I install the raptor wheel I just ordered for my(18xlt) I will have to swap the right hand buttons over as I do not have the tech package(lane departure, lane assist, auto headlamp, etc).

As far as the paddle shifters, I went with boostedgreygoosedesigns.net for the harness(as well as the heated wheel harness).

Yeah, I ended up retaining the stock buttonset. But ran my own wiring to behind the glove box for the paddle shifters. Nothing against boostedgreygoose, but I wasn't about to spend that kind of money for a small wiring harness

Holy cow! The markup on those harnesses is INSANE!

I can professionally make one of those harnesses (and I already do this as a side job for folks) for under $10 in parts and like 15 minutes of my time.

Personally, those harnesses are only worth tops $30 bucks for the larger ones, and the smaller ones about $20, and I'd still be turning a profit for my time.

I can't believe what people pay for stuff without researching or asking around.

My thoughts exactly. I ordered a WT1001 from Ford just for the ends (~$7), used some 18ga wire that I had ordered 6 rolls of 100 ft per color ($22, 3 strands about 10 feet long each ~$1.10), and I ordered a nice wire sleeve 30 ft for $7.20 (used 8 ft ~$1.92). soldered the wires into the gray plug behind the dash, and it's golden. So $10 ($36 if you order everything) materials and an hour of my time.

Well, I guess its my fault for not asking around. I have the ability to build the harnesses my self as well, just couldn't be bothered to do it at this point, especially the heated portion that requires the module and new clockspring.

Are those the only harnesses you build?

I usually only build stuff for close family and friends in order to save a couple bucks. I was lucky enough to be working on a Lariat that already had a heated wheel, so I didn't have to fight that battle

I read 3 or 4 threads about people who did this before I even ordered the wheel to make sure I'd have everything I needed from the start. Im also trying to not do the rats nest of wires like I had in my explorer anymore. That was just plain bad

Oh I hear ya. Been there before with a couple older trucks I owned. That is honestly a nice thing about the harnesses from boosted, they are neat and tidy. And honestly, after building harnesses for work(Freightliner truck dealer) on an almost daily basis, these harnesses leave a great impression. If I had more time, and this wasn't as much of a spur of the moment decision install, I would have build my own harnesses. But its all in the greater plan. The truck will have a heated wheel, which will make the wife want to drive it, which will allow me to sell her suv, and find a late 70's ford truck.

That's the kind of flawless logic I can get on board with

I keep prodding her with listings of trucks for sale around the area. Even found a green one (her favourite colour). She hasn't broke yet, but I'm hoping its going to happen soon.
