Daytime running lights
2018 xlt
I have a Canadian truck so I don't have the option to turn daytime running lights off in the menu.
Has anyone figured out a quick and easy way to turn off this option. Looking to upgrade my lighting to maybe alpharex or something and rather not have them on all day. I know on my 07 there was a module behind the front bumper that you could un-plug.

I've got an OBDII interface that I use with torque pro. ELM something.. I think that's what it is anyway. Forescan huh. Is that an app?
Some searching. Looks like the android app does't configure those parameters, only the pc version?
It's going to the dealer for updates this week. I'll ask them if they can do it.

Yes, you need a PC to do it properly.
They might do it, and yes, it will likely cost money. Rarely do I ever see dealers do software modifications for free. A lot of them tell you they simply can't do it all.

You can get ForSCAN with a 2 month license for free (Search on the WEB you will find it) and I use an "OBDLinkEX" with a USB link available on Amazon. I think FouSCAN has a $10.00 discount coupon. As mentioned before you will need a laptop with Windows XP and up. After you get it up and running go to the BdyCM Configuration module and open it. You will see two columns with procedures on the left and actions to the right. Scroll down to "Allowed DRL" and move to the right column and change it to "All Configurations". Scroll further down until you get to "Daytime running light type". Again high-light which configuration you like from the list, fogs, low-beams with parking etc etc. After that go down to "Write" and follow the onscreen instructions and you should be good to go.
You can do a lot of things with ForSCAN for example. ( FYI I have 2108 XLT Screw with a 5.0.)
You can get rid of Hyperflash from LED blinker bulbs without the need of resistors
You can turn off the aggravating Stop/Start
You can turn of TPMS so you do not have to have your dash lit up when you change from street to snow or put on oversize tires etc.
You can do a lot of things with ForSCAN for example. ( FYI I have 2108 XLT Screw with a 5.0.)
You can get rid of Hyperflash from LED blinker bulbs without the need of resistors
You can turn off the aggravating Stop/Start

A little slow to respond.
Dealer wouldn't alter any of the pcm configurations
I don't have a laptop, just a desktop. Laptops are easy enough to come by, I might just grab one and go this route now realizing the other things I can do with it.

I've installed forscan on a wifi laptop and was able to make some adjustments but not going as smooth as hoped. It was quite different than described here? In the bcm configuration there is no list of fogs, lights etc.. so after watching some videos and loading the code sheets that list all the numerical values, I found the areas I wanted to change and wrote those changes. Auto start/stop and daytime running lights. Auto start/stop:<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xxxx
Once I made the change to auto start/stop, now with key on get the message "speed limiter set to 80mph" I haven't tested it yet but I know for sure it has never had that limiter as I have been well over 90mph. I haven't got a chance to test if auto start/stop is disabled yet either.
Is this a mykey issue

I have a DRL issue as well but mine is a bit different, I have a 2005 F150 Lariat 4x4 Supercrew US truck and I have moved to Canada and DRL's are a requirement up here so to answer a question on an earlier post the dealer will not modify those as it is law to have them on any vehicle in Canada mfg. after Mar 1989. My question is when I moved here and got the inspection I guess the headlights were on AUTO and came on in the shop and were mistaken for daytimers but actually I do not have DRL's at all. I did look at the module box in the engine compartment by the left fender and noticed that where the relays go for the DRL's are empty. Is it as easy as buying new relays and plugging them in? Or is there some programming that will need to be done as well? Thanks in advance
