Ford's new 7.3 gas engine

As many have heard by now, the 2020 super duty is getting a new 7.3 gas engine that is old school cam in block with pushrods and rocker arms. Just recently it was finally announced that it makes 430 hp and 475 tq in the super duty and the chassis cab version is detuned to 385 hp. I was just wondering if ford will eventually make it available in the 150's, possibly with a power bump. The 6.2 was 411 hp in the 150 but only 385 in the super duty, so hopefully they will bump it up to maybe 450 or so for the 150's

I doubt it, due to fuel mileage laws. Super Dutys are exempt from those. Fuel mileage is probably why they dropped the 6.2 in the F150.

True, the C.A.F.E. standards are higher than they were just 10 years ago, but with all the ecoboosts that ford is pushing in the 150's you would think they would have some room to allow the 7.3 in just the limited and platinum trims.

There is speculation in the mustang world that ford might destroke it down to a 7.0 around 427 or 429 ci add more cam and put it in a special edition mustang putting out somewhere around 550-600 hp N/A
