Anyone thinking of 2019 5.0l?

So my 2004 5.4 FX4 is in the shop again and thinking its finally EOL. I pull a small utility trailer, firewood, etc,, maybe a toy or 2 in the future, not towing over 8k,, I'm going with a 5.0 xlt with 3:55 rear but aparrently cant get the HD payload pkg with 3:73 rear with the xlt sport pkg which has the 40/40 front seats and console floor shifter like the old fx4 pkg. Recomendations or any builds/ options you new owners would spec out differently?
thx
frank

I'd go with just that. The HD payload package. Sounds like a direct replacement to what you've got and then some.

Right, but really need the front 40/40 seats with the floor shifter, like old fx4 style, I'm mean they don't make it easy with these package options and restrictions, like you can have this" but can't have that with that',, wth, lol

How about this? I am planning on getting a new truck in the distant future, but for budgeting purposes, I spec'd out a F-Superduty a few weeks ago. I want a regular cab, 8' box, 4x4, XL, 6.7l PSD. But there were certain options I couldn't get because it was a XL regular cab. So it'll be interesting when time comes. Yes, it's frustrating.

I would say interior/packages take priority over axle codes. You can always [somewhat easily] change axles and leafs compared to redoing the entire interior.

2018 isn't fully prewired like the older trucks were. makes it less friendly for modifications. I can only assume 2019 will be the same thing.

my 2018 STX is a 5.0 Screw, pretty basic interior, but it has the flow through console. (column shifted) and the "upgraded" Sync3 headunit.

Having had a 2004 5.4 FX4 SuperCrew with the tow pkg & 3.73 LS rear dif, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the new 5.0L Coyote and 3.55 rear dif. I just got a 2018 4wd SuperCrew (no FX4) and it could pull my old truck down the road backwards! No comparison in torque & horsepower. I haven't finished researching it, but I suspect with the new 10 speed auto, the final gear ratio is probably lower than the 3.73 dif. It's really astonishing how much more powerful the drivetrain is versus the old 5.4L Triton with 4 speed tranny.

more power, less weight, more forward gears in a larger spread of ranges
