2015 Lariat Crew auto step board problems

The right step board is acting up. It only extends 1/2 way when I open a right door and then retracts. To get good access for lubrication I tried setting it to open position with the advance settings on the dash. The right board opens and stays open. The left doesn't open at all. Any help appreciated.

Check your electrical connections? Or else the motor went kaput.

OK Thanks. Are there any related electrical connections inside the 2 doors that should be checked?

I would assume it would be controlled by the same switch the dome lights are connected to.

Not entirely sure without looking at a wiring schematic, unfortunately.

Or by taking the door apart. But something tells me it is somewhere else down the line.

I got it! I got it! Thanks for the help but WD-40 fixed it. Since the system will stop and retract if it senses an obstruction, I wondered if friction would do the same thing. Since this truck has been sitting for a couple months I lubricated and now all is well. YIPEE !!!

Now that you got it free, spray some white lithium grease on it. Lasts way longer than WD-40.
