3.5 Ecoboost black soot

I have a 2017 f150 4x4 with a 3.5 ecoboost. Among other issues, it leaks a black soot onto my driveway every morning. Large black stains in the shape of circles drip out of the bottom of the truck somewhere between the back of the engine and the transmission. Also lots of black buildup on tail pipe. Truck has only 5,000 miles on it. Dealer says its "normal". They think I'm stupid I guess. I've owned dozens of new trucks and none have ever done this. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yes, that's normal for those Ecoboosts.

All direct injected motors make a lot of exhaust soot, the new 5.0 or a GM truck would do the same. The condensation in the exhaust washes soot of the weep holes and tailpipe.

Thanks for the info. I questioned this because I've owned turbos in the past but never had this issue. Also Ive had numerous issues with this truck and I'm a little skeptical at this point regarding Ford quality.

The DI causes more soot to form because of the way the fuel is injected into the cylinders. There is a lot of information about this on the internet and it happens on all DI motors from all brands. A port injected turbo motor won't have this happen.
