Taking money out of the equation, would you trade in the '13 for a '17 Lariat Crew Cab V8 5.0 or just get the '17 and have 2? It's just me that will drive either of them.

I don't tow or haul anything anymore, except my ***.

First world problems but if money is not a problem, get a new one and keep the older one as well but don`t drive it as much as the older one.

Always nice to have a back up

Because of your miles, I would trade if you commute. I trade my trucks around 60K - 70K because getting to work reliably is a must. Yeh, you have a warranty, but things start breaking the closer you get to 100K and I personally don't want the headache.

When I couldn't afford better, I endured the headaches of high mileage cars but now I don't have to, so I don't.

That being said, if you aren't going to be putting miles on the truck, I'd keep it.

My 2012 was configured and optioned pretty much like my 2016. The 2012 was a better truck. Better paint, better fit and finish, more solid, heavier.

The 2016 has rattles, paint issues(found them on every F150 at the dealership) not nearly as solid. Had fit and finish issues. Felt the 2012 was a better quality truck.

That said, the 2016 even with the same 3.73 gears and 5.0L engine, is much quicker and fun to drive spirited. Has much higher tow rating and much higher payload which I use towing my large travel trailer. One of the reasons I liked the 2016 F150 over everything else. Pulls my camper effortlessly up hills, in high winds, and on flats.

The 2016 shines in performance and the 2012 shines in quality. I also get about 2 mpg better on the 2016 even with the same Crew Cab 4WD 3.73 and 5.0L combination.
