Code P0442
Code P0442
First posting so please bear with me. I have a 2016 (6 months old) F150 XlT with a 2.7 eco boost. It just turned 7K. Several days ago I was cruising along doing 55 when my check engine light came on. When I got home I hooked up my scanner and it read P0442, "indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. It means a very small leak has been detected". I'm thinking of erasing the code but it will also erase the freeze frame data.
Is this common for this engine at such low mileage? I'm undecided as to erasing the code. I really don't want to wipe out my freeze frame data in case I have to drag the truck in to a dealership for a smoke test in order to locate the leak. Opinions please.

The code has nothing to do with "this engine", it's an issue with the sealing of the fuel system.
If you have the cap-less fuel filler, insert and remove your temporary funnel a few times (since that's all the dealer going to do initially) and see if the code clears within several tanks of fuel. If it doesn't take it in under warranty and let the dealer handle it.
