My dad just bought a 2017 STX off the lot. It's beautiful, but he wanted remote start and this didn't have it. anybody add an aftermarket remote start like the one below?!

I just recently purchased a 2015 F-150 XLT and would love to hear any reviews on this product. I've been very wary of aftermarket remote starters in the past and have had some unpleasant experiences with them, however those were back in the day before plug-n-play units.

I don't believe there's a thread on here for your particular kit, just a reference to it when someone mentions wanting to add remote start.

Why not buy one from your Ford dealer? They probably have a couple different models. I had them install remote-start for me and it works perfectly. And, as I recently found out, I can start my truck from my factory keyfobs - sweet!

 

You're not going to get one for around $100 bucks from a Ford dealer and you can also use the factory key fob with the 12volt Solutions unit.

Ordered the starter on Sunday and received it Wednesday (Oklahoma to NY). Had no issues installing it in about 5 minutes and works as advertised. Pretty impressed so far.

 

I just installed this in my 2015 F-150. Easiest plug and play install ever and you still use factory key fob to start the truck! This one uses the lock,unlock,lock sequence on factory remote so your horn doesn't beep when starting AND it's a Ford part!! I then used Forscan to enable the menu in the instrument cluster.

I have a 2018 150 STX and this one has worked flawlessly for about 3 months now. The video on the pics of the item is what I went by for installation and it literally is that easy. High recommend. I bought a unit to plug into the ODMII port and used FORScan to unlock the remote starting option in the truck display screen options. Such as last setting used vs auto temp to 72. And timed cut off.
