Question LED headlight question

After having a 2016 F150 Lariat for less than six months, someone pulled out in front of me and totaled the truck (photo attached). I'm looking to order a 2018 and I am looking for some advice or guidance from those that have the factory LED headlights. What I'm wanting to know is if they are worth paying for the premium package on the Lariat. Do they put out more or the same amount of light as the standard headlight? I would like to have the LED headlight, but not sure I want to pay for the premium package to get them. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and advice.

They look cool. Besides that you need that package to get the radar cruise and collision control stuff, etc.

I was window shopping F250s and the LED light option is actually separate, but you still can't get them without the premium package. So who knows what the 2018s will offer.

As a note this F150 I have with the LED is way superior lighting compared to my 2011 F250 with regular lights. All the automatic stuff it has is nice too

I've seen the first ordering guide for the 2018 F150 and the only way you can get the LED headlights is starting with the Lariat 502A Luxury package.

I leased a 2015 Lariat with the Halogen headlamps for two and a half years and just leased a 2017 with the LED headlamps in March. The LED's are only marginally better as far as light output goes. They sure do look pretty though.

If you want to make $10,000-$15,000 more for cool looking headlights... you do you...

Under no circumstances are they significantly better as far as actual lighting goes. Cooler looking, sure, but is it worth the money? That's your call, do you have an extra 10 grand burning a hole in your pocket, or an extra couple hundred dollars per month on your payment?

The Insurance institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently began testing and rating vehicle headlight systems and the new F-150 didn't do very well at all. Read for yourself:
