Tailgate stop

Thanx to all who responded to my last inquiry. It was greatly appreciated.

Newest thorn is that the driver's side "rubber" tailgate stop, won't stay inserted into the body of the bed, and keeps falling out. It has a male push pin that gets inserted into a small hole in the body. Evidently the hole is too big (doubtful) of the push pin is faulty.

Anyway, it's not worth a trip to the dealer (even though under bumper to bumper warranty), but wondered if any of you guys have a suggestion on how to attach it, so it won't keep falling out. I've tried a little silicone, but that only lasted a few days.

I'm hesitant to use epoxy for fear of compromising the paint. For those of you who might suggest duct tape...I think not.

Anyway, any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanx
