Integrated brake controller

On the 2016 Ecoboost F150, there is a setting on the main menu for low, medium and high initial brake effort for towing. Any suggestions on which setting is used when towing around 6000 lbs? The owners manual just says a higher setting may be needed for heavier loads but gives no specifics.

I am running around 8 to 8.5 on the integrated brake controller for the same weight.

I would guess medium, but my 2014 doesn't have that option, I have gain only

Isn't there a suggested routine to set the trailer brakes. My recollection is to take the rig to a quiet road and sequentially apply more and more braking until lock-up, then back it off a little. Pardon me if this reply is either non-responsive or or for the wrong situation.

Orthodoc that is correct for setting standard trailer brakes

The Ford integrated brake controller offers progressive brakes (more than binary on-off)

I believe the discussion is about "tip in" strength setting on the integrated controller

Start on Medium... if you feel a strong "tug" when you step on the pedal then go to low. If you don't feel that strong "tug" then maybe try it on High.

Its all about your comfort when towing so there is no "right answer"
Plus it will vary based on trailer brakes and other factors, not just weight.
