Well, if you see some F-150s with Chevy beds on the back, you will know why!

Sadly, I am more alarmed at the damage from the little tool box than I am the cinder blocks...that video will be in the back of my mind when it comes time to select a new truck...

Meanwhile, they're quietly developing their own aluminum truck body and bragging about their other unique feature. A Wi-Fi hotspot...

I'm not 100% convinced there isn't some trickery going on here. Ford gave several construction companies old body style trucks with AL beds to test and supposedly they didn't punch holes in them. Furthermore, if it was that easy to do why has no one on here or other websites done it? Something smells like a marketing trick...

I can think of a hundred different scenarios that could potentially damage the floor without a liner or bed rug, not just the ones they're showing.

Good point! Would like to see a follow up on this.

I just read a news story about this. GM is floundering in truck sales, the results have not been verified by a third-party, the are grasping at straws and Ford basically laughed at them for it.

GM sales are down several percent vs. last year and Ford's are up. They are getting desperate.

If anyone is dumb enough to try that with a brand new truck of any brand without a liner needs to have their head examined!

I'm more concerned wrecking my tool box...If I had to throw that many sharp objects or blocks in the back all the time I too would get a bed liner.
Just remember the old saying.

"On a quiet night you can hear a Chevy rust."

Because most people who actually do work with a truck, dont use this forum. Most people here are the "platinum crowd" who put it in 4x4 when traversing puddles in the parking lot of their kid's day care

That said, i'm skeptical of the video, wouldnt surprise me if they did something funny

So everyone on here is mall cruising.

But anyway, it looked like most people in that video would be doing the same thing. Although I didn't have the sound up to hear them talking.

As a note I broke the front of the beds in a few trucks and if you want to use them for work they are going to get some damage. I also bent the bed body mounts in a couple others. I haven't delegated this vehicle to that kinda service but slide in and out some heavy pallets and that is enough for me. Kinda makes you cringe when they pick up the back few inches of a heavy pallet and slide it in to the cab especially on uneven ground.

I would sure love to see an independent study. I do use my truck to haul 55 gallon drums on pallets on a regular basis. I have not dropped anything sharp, and do have a bed liner so Im not to concerned.
