To Wave or Not to Wave?
To Wave or Not to Wave?
Being new to trucks, wondered if anyone waves to other F150s they cross paths with?
Coming from the Jeep and muscle/pony car community, Jeep owners live by it (there is even an etiquette: the newer model is to initiate the wave; primarily among the SWB Jeeps -CJs, YJs, TJs, JKs). (modern) Muscle/pony car guys either wave, flash high beams or rev as they pass.
Even motorcyclists have a hands down wave (not sure if it's just Harley guys or non-crotch rockets)
Just wondering if F-150 owners do anything along those lines?

YES! but not a wave wave. Theres a polite gesturing with the fingers from the steering wheel. almost like a point. 1 finger is "hey truck respect" two finger lift and point is "Hey buddy whats up ive seen you before" wave is more for people in your circle. Ive found this common in Florida and Virginia. But its more Ford to Ford and Chevy to Chevy.
Not in my neck of the woods. I always look at another 150 and would wave but they usually pretend not to see me, kinda like when you see a really nice vette and you look the other way
Now on my Harley, everyone waves..

In the city, not so much because there are so many F150's around. If it is a customized F150, I am usually checking it out and if the driver notices we exchange a finger wave, as KngK said. When we go back to the in-laws who live out in the country it is a different story. Seems like everyone on the two lane that has an F150 will acknowledge you. Even other trucks. I don't usually acknowledge other brand trucks any more unless they do it first because I have been given the finger once or twice lol Guess they were just jealous.
I wave at the other Tenth generation trucks but, it seems they all have landscaping trailers behind them.
I also have a YJ so, I know of the wave.

^This is the best response yet! All though most of us love our trucks, its not an enthusiasts community generally speaking. So many of these trucks are just on the road for transportation, and the ability to tow, and haul for work.
I have never seen anyone wave in while in my truck. In my Jeep I get the occasional wave but even that is rare. Too many soccer moms own them now and they are far too busy yelling at their kids in the backseat to see anything that is going on in front of them.
Sounds like people in Texas are of way better moral fiber than the Honda idiots here in Florida. I would stop and back over an obnoxious jerk tailgating me in a riced out Honda civic.....but I wouldn't want to scratch the bumper on my new truck! LOL
