I got a ...... 2015/BLACK/XLT/SPORT/FX4, and came from a 2011 black FX4 that had the darkened halogen headlights.

Even though I fell in love with the look of the new black F150 I got, the headlights have always stuck off like a sore thumb. They are too bright and chromey for a truck that has non.

It looks like Ford is releasing a special edition option for the XLT model with Darkened headlights, both Halogen and HID's or LED's whatever they are.

trying to find information blacking out headlights or smoking them at least, and search isn't bringing anything up on this forum so I'll start my own thread.





I watched a few videos on how to remove the new headlights, and other vids on baking them in the oven to open them up. I can get an OEM set for $500US but im thinking I may just DIY.

I know there have been at least one other forum member here to black out his HID 2015 headlights, but can't find it.

 

Has anybody received one of these special edition xlt's with the smoke headlights? I called my dealer but the two part numbers don't say weather there chrome or smoked. He suggested I get a vin number, last 8 digits is all I need for them to find proper part number. I'm looking for the halogen model, not LED. Could someone pm me the info please? When I get the part number I'll post it here.

here are the part numbers for the smoked headlights on the XLT SE package trucks for 2016.

(GL3Z 13008 C and GL3Z 13008 D) LED
(GL3Z 13008 A and GL3Z 13008 B) NON- LED

I'd like to thank no-one for helping with these. I actually found them on another, MUCH more active F150forum. This forum here is really dead. Anyway, I ordered a set here in Canada, cost was $271 n tax each. Should be here this Wednesday.
