Isn't the 3.5EB $600 more than 5.0.

Have you only driven the 3.5 NA V6?

I get what your saying but I don't totally agree

Read the part about " the myth of back pressure"

When I was at the dealership, the 5.0 was about 1-2k more than the 3.5 ecoboost. I'm sure that they up priced it more but that is what I seen

It's not the backpressure - it's the scavenging and tuning.

Huh?

It wasn't the engine, it would be the way the truck was equipped i.e. the options outside the engine selection.

1-2 grand more but 100 more hp. Not that everyone needs that but if you are looking for performance mods I would just see what swapping trucks would cost.

Not a lot of people buying the 3.5 n/a for the performance.

The dealer is either a shady liar or you didn't listen correctly or both. Be aware of possible warranty issues if you try to hop up that engine.

3.5 n/a. Great motor I would imagine, but more for a delivery truck or someone that is looking to save some sunday walmart shopping bucks.

The 3.7 was similar but supposedly pretty hot. If I didnt have the 6.2 Superduty I was looking for a like optioned truck but f150 3.7L. No one I know with one has complained about it.

I liked that little rocket but due to my wife having another baby and alrdy having a 2 yr old , I definitely needed more room . I really loved how the new f150s look . I think the front end is really what sold me . So one day after work I decided to go to the dealership to "browse" . Usually I wouldn't go looking a vehicles unless I've done my research on them , but when I tried , I think I got lost in translation. Xl , xlt , fx2 ,supercab , standard cab , 5.0 ....... WHAT ? I'm usually a car guy , trucks was new . Told the sales guy that I needed more room , and wanted a powerful engine for a decent price .. after discussing they pull a truck up for me to test drive . Fell in love . Lots of room , rides nice , more power than the st . I even asked the sales guy if this was the twin turbo model . He said yes .... I've should've done my research ...

After having the truck home n having it for a week or so and bragging that I got a twin turbo truck to everyone , I started noticing subtle differences between my truck n the other trucks on the road .. like " hey I don't have a ecoboost badge " ... I finally picked up the window sticker n realized that this was a 3.5l v6 ..... ..... even so , I still love my truck . Just a bit disappointed, but no worries , I can definitely mod it . Right ?
.... right ?????

And now today , my friends , I sit here still searching for mods I can do to this motor but can't seem to find much . I've done the rough country 2.5 lift kit with shocks , and put hids in my headlight n fogs ( I know people will shun me for putting hids n reflectors but ... oh well ) .. I've seen roush just came out with a cai for my motor but other than that there isn't too many options for , well, anything . Heck , I can't even find a lift kit for my truck since it's only 2wd .

So I come to the guys who knows this truck the best , to lead me in the right direction . Am I looking n the wrong places or is there just not much interest 3.5 na motor from a upgrade or performance stand point ?
That sucks. What's done is done. Just for future reference do not buy things you are unfamiliar with without plenty of research. As far as mods go, with most modern vehicles your best bump is going to be from programming. Pretty much anything you bolt on will be negated by the computer, or if there is an improvement it's because the part was wearing out. When people buy these trucks for performance they either buy the 5.0 or the 3.5 eco as their base engine, so that is where the performance mods will be found. When people buy the 3.5 na, they typically are looking for economy, so there aren't a lot of performance mods out there for them.

My advice for the future: Join the Masons or Experimental Aircraft Association, or buy Ford stock. The Masons and EAA offer x-plan, but don't cost a lot. EAA is only $40 per year. You could also invest in 100 shares of Ford stock. 100 shares will cost you about $1100 right now, but if you hold it long enough, you will probably get all of your money back plus some. EAA offers x-plan after 60 days. Investors get x-plan after 6 months of ownership. Not sure on the Masons. On trucks your looking at roughly $3k reduction in price, but the cheaper the truck the lower the discount. Just because you have x-plan doesn't mean you have to use it. search fordpartner. Login with the code eaa01. Search for the car you want on your local lots and compare x-plan prices to normal retail. Make sure it has the features you want, then go look at them in person and drive them. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER rely on a salesperson to provide any information, especially if you can discover it for yourself. Even if they are good, they have to know about all the different models and everyone has their favorite, so expect their knowledge to be limited. When I bought my most recent truck I was told by the salesperson the 2.7l I was looking at didn't come with the auto on/off feature. ALL 2.7l F-150s come with that feature.

OP, I gotta agree with everything glc said.

I agree with wanting to tinker and make it your own! Check out stage3motorsports they have a lot of mods specifically for F150s. They have a lot of different things out there to help make your truck your own. I'm having save up some $$$ to start the modding...

Best of luck!

Well right now I'm gonna wait for about a year or so before I try and trade it in for another f150. I've ordered a few parts for the truck, mainly for looks. I figured if I was to trade for another one later I can just swap parts out.
