Magnaflow or Flowmaster 5.0 V8?
I personally would suggest Borla. Fantastic quality build, and a great sound.
However, the other two brands aren't awful. Magnaflow is direct flowing and deep/clean toned. Flowmaster is chambered ( flow path restriction ) and more hollow sounding. If cost is an issue, buy the Flowmaster, if cost isn't, Magnaflow would be better. If you want the top tier catback, Borla or Corsa.

Choose the Magnaflow over flowmaster.
I personally will be getting the Solo Performance Mach muffler on my truck when the time comes. To me, hands down the best sounding one out there.
I've also tossed around going to a true dual setup with stock GT mufflers to see how that sounds.

Thanks for the input guys! I'm probably a couple months away from doing anything. I kind of like the idea of the bolt on system so it's easy and I can do it myself. I guess I'll have to make the decision if it's worth the extra money. I can get the Magnaflow 19080 at Auto Anything for 20% off which will put it around $775.
My dad and I both have 5.0s. He has Flowmaster on his, I have Magnaflow on mine and I much prefer the sound of the Magnaflow. Always liked Flowmasterss when I had my Sierras but I prefer the Magnaflow for Fords.
Please don't buy a flowcrapper. There terrible. The drone is annoying! Mine rusted out in 3 years. It literally fell off. And I take care of my truck. Same thing happened to my previous truck. I replaced that with a dynomax x flow. I have a dynomax super turbo on this truck now. Single in dual out. Great sounding no drone nice rumble.
Good luck on your decision.

I removed the stock muffler and replaced it with a Magnaflow. I added a dual tip also. The sound is not loud at all and a deeper tone than stock. I think it is perfect for the guy who wants a little more of a throaty sound without being loud.

With the 5.0L V8, all of the 2015+ F150 exhaust will sound great (compared to stock
)
My personal choice is Flowmaster American Thunder for an aggressive sound while being able to hold a conversation in the cab.
Magnaflow is our most popular exhaust with MBRP and Corsa not too far behind

Hi 07massHD,
I am sorry to hear that you have had issues with Flowmaster mufflers in the past. Flowmaster produces mufflers in both aluminized steel and stainless steel. Our aluminized steel mufflers are a less expensive option for people who live in milder climates where rust or road salt is not a concern. Flowmaster's aluminized steel products are covered by our 3-year warranty. All of Flowmaster's 409S stainless steel mufflers, systems, and kits are covered by a lifetime limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. If you or anyone else ever has an issue with a Flowmaster product in the future, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Service department at 707-544-4761 so that we can make sure that you are taken care of.
Personally, I wouldn't put a Flowmaster on a car I was donating to the deaf school. They are horrible! They have a god awful drone right at cruising speed that will run you outta there after the 30-45 minutes. Plus, I would be willing to bet you actually lose power compared to the stock exhaust. The factory engineers were paid a lot of money to come up with an exhaust system that's quiet and flows extremely well. If you just want sound have a local shop cut out the factory muffler and put a different one in.
Hi Wookie,
This is something that we do actually hear quite often. While our aggressive mufflers are some of our most popular, Flowmaster produces over a dozen series of mufflers ranging from mild to very aggressive. If you like the Flowmaster sound, but don't want to deal with drone, we've got you covered. In terms of performance, all of our mufflers have been engineered to increase the scavenging of exhaust gases and tuned to produce a sound that we are well known for. However, due to the many factors involved in a muffler swap, we cannot guarantee a specific performance increase on every vehicle. In general, as long as you run the correct size and series of Flowmaster muffler for your application, you will achieve the sound and performance results that you are looking for. That being said, your best bet in terms of sound and performance is always going to be one of our fully-engineered Cat-back systems. Flowmaster does not release a kit unless it provides improved performance over the stock exhaust system at a specific sound level.

I had a Magnaflow dual exhaust that exited before the passenger side rear tire on my 07. I loved it. I wanted something that would stand out from all the other exhaust, so that's why I got the exhaust that exited before the tire. I was also going for the same sound. Nothing crazy loud at idle or normal driving, but when I stepped on it you knew I was coming. My wife called my truck the dragon because of it!
Just a thought.
