Would this concern you on a used purchase?

I am looking at a new truck through Carmax. They are transferring the truck into the town I live in. I looked at the history and it is a New Hampshire truck (snow belt). It only has 16m miles. Do you guys think the rust in the following picture is something to be concerned about or not?

is it a 2015? Why new tires at 16000. I don't know if many 2015's have seen snow yet. It would have to be a very early production model. Clean Carfax? I have had my 2015 since april and thus far in western ma it has not seen any snow. Just took a look at mine and very little rust on just the front portion of the differential. The one in the picture look really rusty.

It looks to only be surface rust. A wire brush and new undercoating, it'll look brand new.

Well - new tires is a good thing. I noticed that as well. I'm going to make them put it on a lift and I will look it over really good. It's just equipped just like I want for a good price.

If you live in an area where they do not salt, I absolutely wouldn't worry about it. Brand new trucks look like that.

If it bothers you, spray it with rustoleum, or if you really care a lot, coat it with por 15.

Surface rust is not an issue on those parts, other than how it looks.

My truck is almost 8 years old. I've driven it in salt and snow every rear. No rust or even surface rust, but I take extra good care of it. Just saying, a year old truck that's been driven in NH isn't going to affect anything at all.

Looks like a Fuzion SUV.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....&tireModel=SUV

Made by Bridgestone, reviews are pretty crappy.

Tell carmax to throw some better tires in with the deal. I definitely wouldn't be excited about those.

Cheap tires like those remind me of the Hankooks I got with mine brand new.

I got General Grabber AT2's and I love them. Very long lasting tire.
