It was written so you had to stay with their financing for 90 days, I would have lost quite a bit of the savings over the 90 days in the additional interest. My credit union has offered sub 2% rates for a couple years now, but I didn't want to risk seeing a rate hike from them, and then being screwed, over trying to save a couple hundred bucks.

That is a good price. My truck is similar, but a 5.0, and 4x2. I got it for $34,500 before taxes. After taxes out the door price it was almost $37,000. That was in July.

I was told by some that this was true and that the dealer didn't get his money for this financing unless it went for 90 days. I asked the sales manager at the dealership where I bought my truck about this, and he told me I was free to refinance and pay off my Ford loan as soon as I wanted and not to worry about the dealership. I waited until I got the bill for my first payment and went to the CU.

Unless the wording in your contract is different from mine there is no penalty for early payment.

They WANT you to wait 90 days, but there's nothing that legally requires you to. This has been discussed here quite frequently.

Well im embarrassed asI feel Im cautious, and calculated in my purchases. I typically dont assume, but did in this case as pre payment penalties do exist. Sounds like I left 750 bucks on the table.
