I put a rubber bed mat in my truck and after loading and unloading kayaks a few times I have scratches on the humps over the wheels. I'm looking at masking them off and coating them with an aerosol bed liner for protection. I was wondering if anyone has any other suggestions before I do this.

In other trucks I've had drop in liners and a Linex spray job and decided not to go that route this time.

 

I've always had the factory plastic drop in liners. I put a lot of things in and out of the bed and I'm not a big fan of the spray in liners because it's just not as easy to slide certain things in. I know you said you don't want a drop in one but you can usually find them on Craigslist for dirt cheap!

 

Good advice Mpkav. I had a drop in on my 2010 and have the factory spray in on the 2015. For anything you want to slide in easily can't beat a plastic drop in.

 

I had a Bed Rug in my '05 F150 and loved it! It was a bit of a pain to get straw and sand/dirt out, but other than that it was great. I wouldn't put it in a heavily used bed though (IMO).

That's interesting, but when I selected the 2015 F150 the 5'6" bed was the only option. I have the longer bed.
