I just met with a truck outfitting shop and we did a ton of math + interviewed other customers who had upgraded their trucks.
As the guys on this thread have called out:
1. Increasing from 32" to 35" is a nice upgrade and balances out the look of the truck, especially if you have an screw with a long bed.
2. The increase in width alone could cost you 1-2mpg + you need to recalibrate the speedo.
3. However, you can still run those on the factory 18x9 rims and keep the same vehicle dynamics (recommend running something like BFG KO2s).
4. This will need at least a 2" to 3" lift. You want to keep this moderate as well unless you're doing extreme off-roading because it sacrifices considerable mpg to do so
I wouldn't say my off roading is extreme however it is required to get to my favorite fishing holes and the stock setup seems to get me out there pretty well, would just like to stop from driving sideways the whole way back there lol it gets pretty soft in spots so I'd like to go with some nitto trail grapples maybe mud grapplers what setup would be the minimum to run 35s with out any rub??
My friend and I took this picture last week in front of the Fort Worth Court House in Fort Worth, Texas. I figured I'd show it off to people who know what they're looking at!
I posted this on Reddit (r/trucks) last week. First post on this forum. Thanks.
My Concer is that it's a 10ply tire that weighs 57 lbs..
is it extra stiff/bumpy and have you noticed a considerable decrease in power? Thanks
I currently have 275/60 20 that weigh 44lbs but want a little taller tire
