Double horn honk on exit?

So when i have the fob in my pocket and exit the truck while its running and shut the door it honks twice. Anyone know how to disable this if possible? Im assuming i would have to disable some of the security features with it? Thanks

I had a 2011 Taurus SHO with the keyless start... and my parents have a 2013 Edge Limited with keyless start... neither of them honk, there is a warning bell and a note on the DIC that "No Key Present"...

Wonder why the honk for the F150?

Ya so far no option to disable it on the screen....im assuming it has to do with the alarm settings and would have to turn off interior alarm maybe? Ill try that n see. Would like to keep all security features active tho if possible.

my bad they have a 2012... no honk.

Still, it seems like it would be an easy software update to fix this...

I have asked everyone and no answer... No one knows how to fix this idiotic " honk honk look at my truck running!" Idea, makes no sense? ... Looks like a aftermarket programmer company might be the best bet, or get a kit to hook up laptop and hack system... Lol..
I hate it, my truck letting everyone know my truck is running, really stupid.. And even more odd, leave your fob in truck and .... No honk, so I guess keys won't lock inside truck? Then you can't lock truck? No idea what safety this is about but I hate it, this needs to be an option on menu! As soon as I find a way, I will post it...

There is a lawsuit against Ford and a couple of the other companies that make cars with push button start/stop. Apparently a couple of people have died because they pulled into the garage and "forgot" to turn the car off. I'm guessing the double honk is something they have done because of that. Yes, it's VERY annoying! I have found if you leave the drivers side door open while it's running it won't honk.

Wow, you just cannot fix stupid. To sue automakers over that? Money hungry lawyers starting the class action suit I'm sure.

It appears that the only way to avoid the chirp is to hold the fob above the door as you're shutting it. It works on my wife's 2015 Explorer with push button start. It's still incredibly annoying though, and I'd love to find a permanent fix.

What about passenger door disable?

On a 2015, if the driver gets out and move a short distance away with the key fob, then the passenger door is closed with the motor running and the driver door open, it double honks. Can that be disabled and what's the purpose of that?
