That's because FX4 is no longer an exclusive trim level. It's back to being an add-on off road package, just as it was in '02 and '03 (XLT FX4, Lariat FX4, etc.). The flares were painted back then too. I agree with you though, they look much better painted. I just hope they bring back the dark shadow gray lower two tone option with the painted flares

I love the gray. Your truck is perfect man. I'd have trouble trading that one in, even for a '15.

KC should start up shortly after the first of the year, so there won't be any 8' boxes until they do.

Wonder if the will offer the STX with the crew cab option this year? I would be interested in the 3.5 (non eco) with 4X4 and crew cab. I would give up a few of the options of the higher trims for the lower MRSP and simplicity.

I believe the STX is no more and they will be moving back to the "XLT Sport" style trim. I'm also pretty sure you won't be able to get that combination of 3.5 non ecoboost, crew cab, and 4x4, as they don't currently offer that with the 3.7. You can get a 3.7 crewcab, but only in 2wd. If you want a current 3.7 4x4, it is only available in regular cab and extended cab configurations. I imagine this will be the case for the 3.5 NA motor in the 2015s.

With the weight loss, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 3.5 NA in the crew cab 4x4s.

I hope you can still get the "XLT sport" trim (or whatever the STX equivalent is) in Supercrew form. If I were buying a new one, it'd probably be one of those. That or a stripped down FX4 equivalent.

Ordering starts one day before my birthday

I hope it's horsepower, torque, payload and towing specs.

If you get the FX appearance package on the 13 and 14's you get painted flares, and all FX2's get painted flares, at least for 13 and 14.
