Hi everyone.

Quick question on the curb weight of my '18 truck regular cab 3.3 aluminum motor vs. the curb weight of my 02 F150 4.6 Triton - same cab style - both 8ft boxes.

My new truck is only 50 pounds lighter than my old 2002 4.6 iron block motor.

Where is it packing all the weight then? In the frame and electronics?

Just curious if anyone knows where 4 to 600 pounds goes into.

How did you come to the 50 pounds lighter conclusion?

IIRC, the OBS F150 was much lighter than even the NBS 04-08 trucks due to the frame thickness. So it's like comparing apples to oranges.

I would be more interested in curb weight of a NBS non-alum versus a NBS alum body. Especially done on a CAT weigh station or a scrap yard/transfer station weigh scale...

 

The 97-03 was just an all around smaller truck.
