Problem wiring a cap

Hello, I am currently wiring a box cap. I have connected my wires to the 2 dedicated wires under the hood for my dome light and 3rd brake light. My ground is picked up on the rear frame under the spare tire. Question is thst the dome light still does not work, and the 3rd brake light stays on when I have shut the truck off and locked it with the key for. Only way to get the light to turn off is to unplug the harness. When I didn't have a good ground my tail lights did the same thing. Now that's not an issue and I assume since the 3rd light on the cap is illuminated that my ground is ok. Any ideas? Hooked up to the green and yellow wire and blue and black under the hood by master cylinder.

thanks in advance
