2013 F150 AC woes
2013 F150 AC woes
Ok let me give you the details and what I have done I need some help for sure. 2013 F150 XLT. Manual controls with the 7 speed fan. Fan has all seven speeds. Resistor is good. AC blows about 40 to 45 at the vents. Which would be great but, not very fast. I measured the speed with a gauge. It runs about 860 FPM. I thought maybe my evaporator core was plugged. Did the mod and cleaned it. Decided to measure the fan speed at my newly modified access port. Fan blows 2300 fpm at the port after the evaporator. Pulled the driver side actuator off and moved the selector manually. Same result. Found out that my recirculation door mechanism was broken so it is now on full recirc all the time. Which I am fine with. I have replaced the blend door actuator before also. I have tried several mods if you will. I put a sensor from an F250 in which if you run it long enough freezes the evaporator. Fun Fact. Does anyone think I have a piece of foam trapping the movement? I have read allot of complaints but I would be ok with the temperature if I could feel it. My problem is not temperature just volume. If anyone has a plenum schematic or any ideas please help. We have been 100 degrees in Utah lately and its better with the windows down. My next thought is putting a camera down the closest vent to the plenum and find out where the restriction is. Or pull the dash and find the culprit. Tried the resistor mod also same result. Cool temps low flow. I measured my buddies Tundra and his blows at 1800 out the vents. Going to put an Icy breeze cooler in it soon if it doesn't get better. Love everything else. Performance is awesome. I love the ecobeast motor!!
