P2004 on 2010 FX2

Hi All!

4.6L V8, 3v, Code reader is throwing P2004, IMRCV stuck open. I can fix this myself, the issue is I do not know exactly what part to order, there are multiple ones available via all the major stores & eBay. Can anyone help me out? Would rather not pay $400 at the dealer for a $80 part, RockAuto is no help. I couldn't find any info on this fix for the 09-14 years but know it's on the back of the intake from watching other videos. I appreciate it! Truck is bone stock besides some suspension upgrades for towing, which is why I need to fix the P2004 because I'm losing power.

Thanks all!
-CJ

Call Tasca, give them your VIN, and get a part number and price quote.

However, look at the possible causes:

Thanks glc! Tasca was no help- wasn't even able to pull up a IMRC for my year. I know my truck has it because I can see it. As for the causes, idk, I mounted a gopro and recorded it not moving so I know that it's that. Possible shortage or whatever that cause may be, easiest suspect is the IMRC I can see that it's not actuating like it should.

Just looking for the correct part number for the IMRC for my truck.

You're right, it could be but if it isn't then I'd rather have the part to fix it while I have the whole top off instead of being down a vehicle.

Anyone know the correct part number?

Only thing I've found is possibly ford calls it the charge motion control valve p/n: 9G730. Link below

Is this it? Says 2010 4.6L..... I just can't find the part anywhere....

Alright- called Tasca back and got a better rep- p/n is 7L2Z-9J559-A. Ordered today. Hope anyone else having this issue sees this thread and doesn't have to go through days of research like I did.

Yes, it's also called a CMCV. Call Tasca again and ask them to search using that terminology and give them the 9G730 reference.

Appreciate it glc! Ya the second rep knew exactly what was needed.

While researching this I noticed that a lot of mustang guys do a CMCV delete kit on their 4.6Ls to get more power, makes me wonder if it would work with our trucks.
