09 ford f150 u0300 & p060a in limp mode
Hi everyone,
I have a 2009 Ford F-150 XLT with the V8 5.4L 3v engine. The truck has been well maintained but recently has experienced a communication error. The check engine light is on as well as the gear wrench so the truck is in limp mode or failsafe mode. It is not intermittent so it is now always in limp mode so I cannot drive it.
Right now it has the following DTC codes:
P060A
U0300
I purchased a new PCM because everything was pointing to a faulty PCM but that did not fix the problem. I also had the PCM reflashed by the Ford Dealer with no luck. I left it with the dealer to see if they could diagnose the issue. They told me it needed a new Engine Harness (Part # 9L3Z-12A581-PB). They wanted $3500 for the repair. I called another dealer for a second opinion and had it towed. They thought it was the battery junction box so they replaced it and ran tests and it seemed to resolve the issue for about a month. After I brought the truck back to them for an Oil Change, I got in the truck and started it so I could leave, and the truck threw the same codes and went into Limp Mode. I left it with them but they kept telling me that I needed a new PCM but I am not convinced that is the issue. So I left the dealer with my truck and now it has been in my driveway stuck in Limp Mode.
I have done lots of research online and on YouTube looking for help on how I can resolve and fix the problem myself but I unfortunately can't find anything in regards to the issue and DTC codes I have on my truck.
The problem with the Codes, is none of them are specific and do not tell me which module is failing or not communicating.
Can anyone please offer some help or direction on how I can resolve and fix this issue?
Thanks!
