Intermittent Starting Problem
Intermittent Starting Problem
My 2014 F-150 has an intermittent start problem (no crank, no start, no click). Based on my experience it acted like a neutral safety switch issue, but I was told the vehicle doesn't have this part anymore.
The dealer ran diags and based on DTC code B20BPM they replaced the PATS TRANSCEIVER (8G1Z-15607). This didn't fix the problem. The problem seems to occur more often after being run for awhile and it always seems to start after thirty minutes or so.
The dealer suggested replacing the starter next, that is a pretty expensive guess. Any advice based on your experiences?

Have you tried putting it in Neutral to start it, wiggling the lever up and down?
It *has* to have something that functions as a neutral safety switch. In the older 4 speed transmissions, it has an externally mounted transmission range sensor, which functions as a neutral safety switch. On the 6 speed, the range sensor is internal on the lead frame.
