2013 FX4 No Crank No Start

The dash appears normal when attempting to start the truck, like it's just fine. Nothing out of the ordinary.

It's throwing the Sure Track code, and the Trailer Brake controller code. Reset those once. The starter will not crank even when bypassed. I've checked the fuses, and haven't found anything obvious. Looked at the remote start module, and the connections hidden in the passenger side kick panels, and all looks like it left the factory yesterday. 2nd attempt with the codes reset, and still the same condition. Any thoughts where I might look next?

What exactly are your trying to bypass? Be specific....

Bypass = I guess I said that wrong. Direct power to the starter, to see if it would crank, and had no luck getting it to function.

Check the battery and connections first . If it still has the OE battery it's 7 years old.

Nope, I don't believe it's the battery, it's only 2 years old. That was one of the first things looked at. Plenty of power to all other functions, and everything appears to look normal. I'm beginning to think maybe the starter itself might be locked up.

Everything that has been checked, now seems to lead back to the Body Control Module. Everything else is seems to be working, it's just not reading either key.

If you cannot get the starter to crank when directly applying power to it (assuming it was done correctly), you probably should fix that first. That test has nothing to do with the BCM.

Unless you're getting a "Starting system fault" error message on the display, you don't have a PATS issue.

I had it towed to Ford, the starter works - they found several modules that are not communicating, and advise it's actually a wiring problem. After all the money I've already spent just keeping this truck on the road, I stopped at this point, since I was advised this might run into a very expensive search, and repair. I hate to turn such a beautiful FX4 into a yard ornament, but this pickup has been like breaking a mirror.....7 years of bad luck.
