Chasing coolant leak!
I have a 2013 f150 5.0 V8. The 2 smaller upper reservoir hoses have been replaced. The upper radiator hose has been replaced. The leak continues. It has not leaked while running and only seems to show up after being driven more than 40-50 miles, and then sits until the engine temp goes down. Then when I am able to check it, there's been a softball to volleyball sized puddle soaked into the cardboard I put down. Most recent check (after seeing puddle), there is no coolant residue on the hoses or the "Y" connector or the water pump... I'm stuck. I checked around on some of these forums, but never found one that spoke to my situation. If anyone has any ideas as to what it could, it would be a big help!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Hi, I had a problem with my 2013 5.0 70k miles leaking anti-freeze, at 1st i thought it was the water pump, traced the leak to the plastic T hose connector. Did a google search on it and Inside there are O Rings, i replaced them with round shaped O Rings and no more leaks. Ford put square shaped O Rings on there instead of round O Rings, go figure. Ford dealer and auto parts places were out of there minds with prices, found a 3 ring set on ebay for $2.50 with free shipping. Do your homework and check under the hood to see if thats where it is leaking from. Hope this is allowed, here is a link for a youtube video. Check it out, i didn't drain mine, i did it from the top to replace them.

Sorry for the old thread resurrection, but I'm curious if anyone has any info on this?
2013 5.0L
Early on maybe 60k miles I had the bad O ring at the "T" on the top of the engine leak. Replaced the O ring and was good to go.
Around 70k I had coolant pouring out of the water pump snout. Yes, I ignored the strange noise coming from under the hood. Replaced it with an aftermarket one and am all good.
Now I'm at 108k and just developed a leak coming from under the engine. Temp has dropped to below 30* and the truck hasn't moved for 2 days.
My problem is I cannot see the leak. It's dripping from both sides of the oil pan. The water pump is dry and the hoses appear dry. It's got to be coming from something up front, getting onto the oil pan flange and following along it until it drops down.
Anyone got a thought on what could be leaking up front other than the water pump? Thank you
