Hit a pothole and truck died. Won’t start back. Please help.
Checked fuses. Sprayed ether and it tries to start. Not getting fuel somehow. Any suggestions?!?!

The older trucks had a fuel pump kill switch on the passenger side kick panel. It was to shut off the fuel after an impact to prevent fire. Old timers makes me forget the proper name for the switch. Look for a red button and push it to reset.
The newer trucks may not have it or perhaps it is in a different location. Anyhoo I hope that is it. I'm sure someone else will chime in to set one of us straight. Good luck. |
I think they stopped putting the switches on them in 2009. We have been able to crank it by bypassing the fuel pump relay. We just can’t figure out what is causing them not to get power.

Check the FPDM, underneath by the spare tire.

The FPDM in 2009 and newer is all plastic, no corrosion. However, it could be bad or the connector could be loose or corroded.

My Fuel Pump relay went bad, did you try switching it out with a different one.
Also the #27 fuse can show good and may not be making contact in the fuse box. Try a regular mini fuse instead of the mini low profile 20 amp in it. You also still might want to check the FPDM, the one glc put up is the replacement, if it looks like the picture below it might still be the problem. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...39c8aa5877.jpg |
2008 was the last year of that style FPDM. The one I posted is what 2009 and newer came with.
