Sony Nav no touch

Tried searching and everything seems to lead to Sync 3 on newer trucks. Just bought a 2010 Lariat with the Sony Nav.. Touch screen won't "touch".. Nothing, hit it, drum on it, no response. Everything else works, steering controls, actual push buttons etc and screen displays correctly what you're doing, just can't using any touch buttons..

Did the battery disco, no good..

Any help please?

THanks

Did you buy it from a dealer or private deal?

If from a dealer, I'd take it back and have them fix it. Usually they offer 15-30 days if something major occurs.

Private deal... well then it's on you buddy.

Certainly would have gone that route if the option to do so existed..

Anyone dug deep into these things? Acts like the digitizer is defective but a lot of money/work without being able to prove things first.

Resolved, just posting because too many people never do and then you find it in a search and don't get an answer.
The digitizer screen was dead, cloudy in fact. It isn't that hard to remove from the main LCD and replacements are available online. However I found that the part number for the entire LCD module (with digitizer) is the same for most Lincolns and many other Ford products so I have one coming from ebay for $100

Just in case someone asks, another issue was when turned on and you get that 'hit OK to accept' warning thing I couldn't clear it via touch because the touch was dead, but you were supposed to be able to hit any hard button too but not so.. I also found the entire system slow to respond once that stupid screen finally timed out. This was also a fault of the dead digitizer. With the screen completely removed any hard button would immediately clear the warning screen and moving between screen options was 1/2 a second so the dead digitizer was causing the head unit to go into a tail spin.
