Exclamation 2012 5.0 frozen starter??

I recently got back to the frozen tundra (Minnesota) after a month out of the country and since I had to leave my truck out in the cold the battery was dead when I got back. I got the truck jump started and it worked perfectly the first day. This morning I go to turn on my truck and all I hear when I turn the key is a “click” and no crank. The lights and all the electronics in the cab work so I thought maybe it wasn’t the brand new battery I put in just before I left. I tried to jump the truck with a booster but that didn’t work. HOWEVER, my truck finally did crank and turn on when I jumped it traditionally. (car to car). The weird part is that after I get it jumped in the morning, the truck will work all day.

I have an impression that moisture on something freezes overnight and that limits the amount of power I get. If the starter was busted wouldn’t I have not been able to start my truck at all? Maybe one of the cells in the battery isn’t working, I just don’t know.

Any insight would be helpful
