lowered 4x4

I'm new to the site and i tried finding info on lowering my truck through the search but i'm not finding anything. I am not very used to a forum page like this so i may just be doing something wrong???? Anyway anyone else on here lower their 4x4, if so what kit did you use? or what other method can be done???? most i have found are 2-4 lowering kits which if that's all i can do i'll take it, just curious from people who have already done it what they have used.
Thanks

What year is your truck? I had an 07 4x4 that I lowered. Tell me how far you want to go, and I'll tell you what to get. BTW I'm in North Olmsted.

haha no **** i live in wickliffe, mines a 2010. I have seen a DJM kit that's a 2-4 drop. Gotta flip the axle over the springs for it and new A-arms up front.

If you want it lower like a 2wd just replace the front shocks with 2wd models, that will give you a 2" drop in the front. For the rear, remove the factory lift blocks, and get a set of 2" drop shackles. That will get you about 3" in the rear. Depending on what shocks you buy you can probably get everything for under 250. Get front shocks for a 2009 thru 2013 and they will fit your truck. While your at it, you might want to consider 2wd rear shocks because they are shorter and wont bottom out as soon as the stock 4x4 ones.

Also don't listen to the clowns at vato zone, 2wd shocks will fit a 4x4

That's bad ass man, way cheaper than the kits i've seen. You sound pretty knowledgeable so any idea on new shocks???? As far a brands to go with or stay away from??? I really appreciate it.

Bilsteins are really good shocks for a stock replacements, way better than the factory ford stuff. If you can't find them locally, try rock auto

Good luck. I like moderately lowered 4x4s (or 4x4s that are the height of 4x2s). Show us some pics when you are working on it and it's done.
