KO2 vs. Duratrac Ride Quality
KO2 vs. Duratrac Ride Quality
Hi All,
I am preparing to buy new some rubber, either the KO2’s or the Duratrac’s in a 275/60/20 or 275/65/20. I had KO2’s installed on an ‘07 Avalanche in the past. As I recall I was not as impressed with them in the winter as others seem to be, I always found the rubber got cold easily and would result in a lot less traction/more front-end push in hard packed snow than I otherwise would have expected. Now that said this was 3 years ago and obviously weight distribution plays a part. So how they performed on the Avalanche is not necessarily how they would perform on my ‘13 FX4 Supercrew.
I am considering the KO2 again along with the Duratrac’s. My main dilemma is in the ride quality of the two. With the Duratrac I can opt for a ‘P’ metric in the 275/60/20 versus the LT of the KO2 in 275/60/20. If stepping up to the 275/65/20, it is a moot point between the two. I do not require a LT tire. My real question here is, would there be a noticeable difference in the ride quality between the P Duratrac’s versus the LT KO2 in the same size? I like to ride with a slightly lower air pressure (32-35PSI) anyways for a more cushy ride so not sure if the P Duratrac versus the LT KO2 would make a significant difference.
Looking for any feedback you can provide before I pull the trigger over the next few days.

i have the lt KO2 tires on my 13 screw on stock 17 inch wheels size 265 70 17 so my siwall is larger that your 20's. that ride is rougher by a long shot over the stock p series tires. the KO2 are rated for 80 and i run them at 40 psi. when i got hem i needed tires asap and would rather have had a p series tire. go with the p series.
