After hours of research i finally got New tires for the truck

I went with
285 65 18 cooper discovery stt pro
ballistic jester 18x9 +12 offset

also I bought a 2.5 leveling kit but I do not think the truck needs it what do you think?

Looks great. If you don't need the leveling kit for clearance issues I would leave it as is. Your topper looks like it levels the truck. I would think you would be front end high with any leveling kit

What kind of backspacing are your Jesters? I just purchased some American Racing AR914's.
5.34 Backspacing with +15mm offset, wondering if I choose wrong.
Once they arrive going with the Cooper STT Pro's also 305/265/18.
After living with the Cooper STT's for a month what do you think? I've heard a lot of great things, great in Snow and Rain for a MT.
Also the Road Noise is minimal, considering they are MT's.
Also I'll gain almost 5,000lbs with my Towing.

Say what???

Going to a higher rated tire will actually HURT your tow rating as the empty vehicle weight increases. The tow rating is based on tires, axles, springs, engine etc. That all goes to create the maximum amount of weight the truck can pull and support under the manufacturer's guidelines. Anything you add to the truck should be subtracted from the payload rating. In your case probably 15-20 pounds per tire plus the difference in wheel weights.

Truthfully, a 1/2 ton truck doesn't NEED more than an XL or C rated tire. The semi-floating axles aren't made for more weight than that. The thicker sidewalls might help cut resistance on a trail rig but that's about it.

The truck looks great but I'd like to know how much those heavier tires hurt your MPG after you have a chance to put some miles on it.
