Head Rests

Newbie here! I just got this '09 F150 Super crew King Ranch 4X4. What is up with these head rests? Front seats have DVD monitors in the head rests. But all these head rests do is tilt with your hand. Basically flopping forward and back. Why do they not lock in any different position? Is this normal? Because they don't offer the front passenger and driver any comfort at all. Thanks for your time: surrender:

mine lock forward on my screw xlt. Just have to pull a little at a time, if pulled all the way forward it detracts all the way back to the start. Hope this helps

DVD in the headrests are probably an aftermarket kit

No, they are factory DVD headrests. But my real concern is the fact they don't tilt and lock. Up and down is fine.

they should "ratchet" forward and stay in any position... then when you pull all the way forward they will spring back to the full back position.

(kinda like an old-school folding lounge chair)

if they are just "flopping" then it sounds like something is broken on them

OK. Thanks best explanation and makes perfect sense. Appreciate your time! I bet those King Ranch head rests with those factory DVD's in them are super cheap!

They're aftermarket for sure. They were not available in the F150. When I special ordered my truck I had a set added as an aftermarket accessory. The ones I got are a set of 7" Roadviews.
